Ever Heard of This Guy?
So who's this Canadian guy that everyone's talking
about? You know, you saw him in "The Secret",
the distinguished-looking fellow in the $3,000 suit
and the gray hair? Well, his name is Bob Proctor
and it's hard to believe that when he was 25 he
was, in his own words, "sick, broke and miserable"
and totally clueless about how to change it.
Obviously, he did figure it out, thanks to a mentor
who believed in him when he, himself, couldn't,
and he's spent the last 40+ years teaching the rest
of us how it's done. You can hardly point to anyone
in the personal and business development movement
who doesn't point to Bob as an inspiration.
Many companies that have hired him have had their
sales explode by millions of dollars, and many people,
like me, have had their lives changed dramatically.
What do you need to know that Bob might know?
What problem or obstacle might you be facing that
Bob has the solution for? There's an easy way to
find out. Do what I did - get some of his home study
programs and devour them!
I've got most of them for serious discounts off retail,
but the quantities are limited and my supplies are
drying up. You can see right on the site the exact
quantities I have left. Click here now:

Your Own Personal Alcatraz
"Habits are cobwebs at first; cables at last."
- - Chinese proverb
One of the great lessons I learned from Bob Proctor
was contained in a story that he heard from Dr Jay
Dishman, the minister of the Unity Church in Atlanta,
Georgia.
Dr Dishman told of visiting the famous Alcatraz prison
in the San Francisco Bay where the most hardened
criminals were at one time incarcerated. Now a
historical site, visitors are allowed to tour the buildings
and cell blocks from which no one is known to have
escaped alive.
Dishman said that, as he contemplated what it must
have been like to be condemned to life in that bleak
prison, his mind turned to another prison which holds
many, many inmates, most of whom do not even know
that they are in jail.
That prison, he said, is habit.
Habits are not just repetitive actions - if that were so
they would be easy to change. No, the most restrictive
habits of all are habits of thinking, and they are the
most difficult to correct.
Habitual thoughts lead to habitual actions which
over time determine our destiny. To create the
life we want we must take different actions which
means we must think different thoughts. We must
become conscious of our thoughts, interrupt the
habitual process, and choose to think differently.
Of course, the problem, as Bertrand Russell put it, is
"Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth --
more than ruin -- more even than death."
Or, as Earl Nightingale rephrased the problem,
"If most people said what they were thinking,
they'd be speechless."
Now that may sound a little pessimistic, but I think
we have to admit that most people go through life
pretty much on autopilot. As a reader of this
newsletter, however, you're above average and up
to the challenge. Here's your assignment (should
you choose to accept it.)
In the next two weeks, practice becoming aware
of your thoughts and see if you can identify five
habitual thought patterns in your life. Look at
different areas - your job, your relationships, your
health, your friends, your family, your addictions.
Watch to see if the same thoughts and feelings
are popping up. Find places where new thoughts
would serve you better. Make them a habit.
As Dear Abby once said, "A bad habit never
disappears miraculously; it's an undo-it-yourself
project."
To your success,
Wes
